Seed producers have traditionally used harsh chemicals or heat treatments to eliminate seed contaminants that kill or damage seeds and reduce yields. Bleach and other chemical-based decontamination processes have been phased-out by regulation in many areas with others soon to follow. Without an effective alternative, seed producers risk loss of valuable crop and reduction in germination rates, both of which are detrimental to their core business.

With DECONIX for seed decontamination, we are able to increase seed efficacy while meeting the new regulations within the European Union and maintaining seeds’ organic status. Delivering a safer and more effective seed to clients is easier with DECONIX.

DECONIX’s decontamination technology is proven effective at eliminating Fusarium oxysporum, Phytophthora spp, Bacillus and Pseudomonas and has been tested with tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers and watermelon.

Not only is DECONIX’s system effective at decontaminating seeds, but it also preserves seed organic status and increases seed efficacy by up to 30%. This allows seed producers to not only pass regulatory requirements but to offer a more effective product to growers.

In collaboration with our partners at AgroIntec SL, DECONIX’s solutions have undertaken multiple trials and with the Spanish Agency Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research (IFAPA) to leverage our UVC-V technology for the application of non-residual, organic, pre-field processes for the global seed industry.
